Hello all,

I'm so stuck as to what to do layout wise with our house. I know I want to open it up and have the living/dining/kitchen all as one area.

I did some plans in Sketchup (below), however, I'm considering nixing the bedroom I was going to create on the main floor so that I have more area to play with.

What do you think? Should I create the bedroom and make the living/dining/kitchen space smaller and tighter? Or Nix the bedroom and have the larger space?

We live in a forested area, so a mudroom is quite needed with all the pine needles etc. that come in every day.

House currently has 2 beds, one master and one downstairs. There is a loft upstairs (called rec room in the layout) that we could convert to a bedroom, so i'm thinking that may be enough beds for the size of home?

I would LOVE some suggestions :)!!
