Sump pump : Beeping

We just purchased a new home and the next day we walked into the property we heard the sump pump beeping.
Upon closer look, the back up battery was beeping and the light next to pump indicator was on. Pushed the reset option and the light turned off and beeping stopped. Couple minutes later when the water was being pumping out, the beeping started again. What might be issue ?

There could be many reasons, maybe the power went out temporarily, or the water level could be off, etc. Read the manual and see what it says.

Thank you so much. Power might have gone off temporarily. I saw the oven clock was reset. Wouldn't the beeping stop after reset ?

It depends on the model you have, best you read the manual and see what needs to be done. Some models you unplug and plug it back in, some have an instant reset button, some models can take up to 24 hr to reset.

If you don't have the manual, just look up the battery manufacturer I'm sure they have a PDF guide on their website.

I think you should test it to make sure the lower pump in the pit is still working and the backup pump is not kicking in every single time.
