No pitures attached and I wouldn’t accept cracks in a new counter. the installer needs to replace the counter with first quality materials.

Unacceptable ! I’m trying to imagine a scenario where material cracked while installing but installer continued with installation - I can’t.

@KW PNW Z8, you would be surprised at how many crack, get fixed and are not noticeable. It took me a year to find a crack/repaired corner on My Taj Mahal peninsula. The repair was done before installation. What a waste it would have been to throw out a whole slab that looked and functioned as it should. I had also owned the slabs for months before they were used, so it would have been close to impossible to find another slab that matched the other 2.

When I brought it to the installers attention I found out the crack by the sink was actually fixed before install. The other crack he said he didn’t know about but my contractor thinks there is epoxy in there.

For now He is having a stone restoration guy come out and try and fix it. Hopefully he can work miracles.

@chispa - I didn’t think about the situation you describe. Seems a repair would be easier to hide on a surface with more pattern than what OP has

So the installer just came back and said the crack by the sink did separate, but it is perfectly smooth now and what I am seeing is simply a vain in the stone. I really don't know what to believe and I am curious if there were any professionals here that could offer an opinion.

The crack next to the faucet is not natural; it's fabricator/installer error.

Your backsplash is in already...replacing the tops could may damage the backsplash!
