Is the stone only on one side of the house?

Evaluate exterior materials and colors with all sides of the house, it is not a '70 hair style.

What Mark said about any material on the front should be repeated all around the house.

You have way too much going on in the front. You have 4 materials just on the front elevations and then you add the detail in the gable. Pick 2.

As for the stone, it shouldn't look like an old grandpa's pants but should look like it's the foundation of the house. Meaning it should stop at where the first floor of the house starts.

I would also consider putting SDL grids in the windows so you don't have those visual large dark holes.

Lastly those columns on the front and on the back are way too narrow.

@Mark Bischak, Architect Agreed. So far the only stone in the back is at the base of the deck support pillars (which will be thicker than the the low res elevation shows). Sort of like this...

@cpartist Thank you for the detailed response. Essentially, there would be three materials in the front: 1) stone highlights at the base 2) dark brown batten board up to the gables, and 3) matching dark brown shakes in the gables. Would the uniform color alleviate the busyness concern? It's interesting around here (North Idaho), all the new homes have at least 3 materials going on like this:
