What area of the country are you? Could you put a big planter or cut out room for a big palm between the garage doors? How about add brackets to the house? Could you add beefy trim around the garage doors and new light fixtures?

Wood trim

Put a potted plant in between the garage doors

Yes to the potted plant , only I would add three , one on each side and one in the middle and lights

If the house wasn’t hidden by the overgrown landscape, the garage wouldn’t be the only thing we see. Cut back, shape, and trim the existing shrubbery and add a planter between the garage doors. You can have seasonal plants in the planter for a splash of color.

felizlady is correct, but I like the idea of dimensional interst in the brackets across the front over the doors OR 3 all new more substantial lighting adding a light between garage doors. Maybe some house numbers?

A nice pergola look could be DIYed for your budget and I agree lose some of that overgrowth so the house is the star

^^^ I think a pergola would look great, too. That’s a good example Patricia shows.

It would tie the garage in with your nice landscaping, and go well with your house style.

There are several decorative ideas you can add to the garage but as others have said, your “hidden house” makes the garage all anyone can see. That is also adding to the massive impression it gives. To look appropriate with your overall house design we need to see the house.

In all seriousness though, you can do a belly band and change the siding above it:

Sometimes just simple painting would bring balance

Sorry I haven't been in on the conversation - I left town for a number of days right after posting. Thanks for all the comments! There's some great suggestions here - I decided to go with the giant wreath... ;o)

I'll think about the various options. It's unfortunate that what are now some very nice trees (they're actually much larger now with no underbrush, but didn't have a current photo) were planted in very poor locations.

I like the results with Celery's paint scheme, but don't want to paint the whole house right now. But it has me thinking along the lines of the grey doors with the existing white house and red trim...
