@mary you have a nice space. I am not sure what you like and what changes you are comfortable making. So will offer some small points. Sheers might work and hang softer in your room. Swap the mantle mirror to your makeup table to add some height there. Add some vertical art on that angled wall. The floor lamp seems out of place, try removing from the room to see what you think. You might find some art to lean on that mantle. I don't typically add anything above the bed, maybe make some of the other changes before you decide what would feel right above the bed. Ahh yes the cord clutter! We take all the kids' devices at night and charge them in our room that is why there are quite a bit of cords! Other than that, any advice for the stuff that we keep there regularly? How do reduce cord clutter for items that are need to be plugged in ? Yes, we intend to extend the curtain rods - kind-of problematic because of how the windows are situated. But yes, I noticed that and agree. Yes, I agree on replacing the metal chair in the corner with something upholstered!

The lantern and salt rock are not needed...the candles on top of the mantle are plenty of extra 'light'. Removing them would take care of cord clutter. I would need a vanity chair with a back to it and I agree the mirror is too small too low....I get that it may work for when you are sitting but I like to stand and check my whole self before leaving the room. While you are working on the curtains, bring them down...hung that high MIGHT have been trendy but in the end really just doesn't work. The biggest issue I have with the room is the head board. Either you need more hits of THAT brown or you need a darker headboard to go with all the dark accessories, more like the bench at the foot of the bed. If you decide to get another...go taller and then the debate over art over the bed would disappear.

Mary, I would always sit on a chair prior to purchase, to guarantee that it IS comfy. (It's one thing I'd never order on line.)

I would add fabric and art with some color.

If you are opening and closing the drapes daily, pleated drapes with rings or on a track would be much easier to use and have a neater appearance

You need some color....pillows, artwork...something with color!

No to the slipper chair, a comfy chair needs arms. And I agree that you should not buy a chair without sitting in it first.

It's a pretty chair, it's just not what I would want in my bedroom. When I think of a bedroom chair, I envision time away for myself from whatever else is going on in the house. The calming atmosphere in your bedroom would certainly draw me in to enjoy peace and quiet, read a book or magazine, watch something on my ipad, have a glass of wine - you get the picture. My ideal bedroom chair has arms so you can lean and rest into the chair comfortably, and I also like an ottoman so I can put my feet up and a small table right alongside the chair. When I look at the chair you posted, it looks like something you perch on for a minute to put on your socks. It doesn't look like the kind of of chair in which you could spend any time. I don't want you to buy something based on looks alone, I want you to buy a chair that you actually love to use.

I implemented as many suggestions as I could to the best of my ability! I still need to move the curtains. I got the controversial slipper chair and I live it! i am small and petite so maybe it just fits me well. Although my husband has taken to sitting in it to chat with me while I do my makeup.
