I deleted as it showed up as I hit send. Where is it actually delaminating? Can you show pictures of that?

I think the staircase looks fine and I’d actually focus on other updates. But if you must change the staircase I would get new railings and close in the treads.

Some inspiration

It has an exterior deck look to it. Replaceing the balusters would go a long way. This isn't going to be cheap.

Reglue the veneer. Have an expert cabinet finisher tone the whole a shade or two darker. Add a funky patterned runner.

Also not even approaching cheap.
