Sets my teeth on edge.

WTH?

Well, that turned my stomach.

ETA: Did you notice all the art is hung so that the tops of the frames are even with the tops of the door frames?

Yikes.

Reminds me of the dinner scene in Beetlejuice..

Need to duck your head in this one.

Wouldn't eat much in that room. Good way to lose weight, I suppose.

Excuse me, could you pass the Grey Poupon?

A Donna Moss of ”Donna Decorates Dallas” room?

Good eye, @Allison0704. Not the most pleasing, is it? There's a "formally-trained interior designer" on YT who shares this advice. I don't get it.

Curious to see this irl. The ceiling art looks so distorted. Another fish eye real estate pic? (Won't redeem the furnishings.)

Just Googled Donna Moss, @Jilly. :( :(

Does this style have a name?

I really dislike the mustard color on the walls - that does turn my stomach more than the furniture in the dining room.

The ceiling is my favorite part.

The ceilings, this and another one somewhere are actually very well executed. However I think the perspective is meant for a much higher ceiling and these appear to be barely 8 feet.

I can't find the house again, but it is somewhere on Long Island and I feel like it is probably first generation Eastern Europe or Middle East owners. This general style is not uncommon in Queens or eastern Nassau Counties.

I'm comfortable with 8-foot ceilings, having spent much of my life in post-war suburbs, but this isn't what you are supposed to do with them. That said, if it were mine, I'd paint the walls and definitely keep the ceiling.

I don't mind goofy and fun when "it's just paint". Nobody is impressed with my decorating style anyway.

Now put the art back! :)

I think light colored furniture would better in this now improved room.

Great improvement, @palimpsest!

Artwork should be hung at eye level if not over a piece of furniture or part of a gallery wall.
