Any spines on leaf tips? Hard leaves stiff or fleshy soft?

Fleshy soft, Dave. Yes, spines on the tips.

It's a nice Agave, but man, my Agave americana variegata sucker like crazy, constantly and it's so nice giving them away to friends. I have a few other Agaves, including Agave parryi, Agave desmettiana variegata, Agave tequiliana and another variegated one which I can NEVER remember in Latin (and I used to teach Latin in a former life). Oh yes, it's Agave toumeyana var. bella. The one in the pic though is bothering me because, I don't even remember acquiring it.

Any suggestions to ID this Agave? Blue-green leaves, relatively spineless, but sharp tips.

Are tip spines hard or soft? You initially said spineless, but there are spines? You should also show the entire plant. A lot can be determined by the subtle curve of the ends of the leaves as well as spine color. Can you take a closeup of the leaf margins as well as the terminal spine?

What species have you ruled out? Could it be a hybrid?

The tips have a sharp spine, but the leaf length has spines but not really sharp

I will post more pics tomorrow. Leaves are not rigid like some of the blue agaves I see on line, more fleshy. I have A. americana, and that species is very prickly, this one does not bite at all.

My guess is A. desmettiana. At least mine are soft to touch except the very spine at the edge. Some of the Mangave are soft but most have some sort of spotting on the leaves. Possible revision of your A. desmettiana.

My favorite soft Agave is not an Agave but Furcraea foetida 'Mediopicta' giant false agave. Very colorful and safe and soft to the touch.

I don't think it's desmettiana, I have one of those and the texture of the leaf is smoother on the desmenttiana. The shape of the leaf is also different. And I think this one is much cold hardier than the desmettiana. Sure, you can post it on FB. Thanks again.
