If they are scratches can they fix it? It would have been from the trolly they used to wheel it in

The boss guy called and said they are scratches and he can come polish it out.
Will polishing ruin the honed finish?

So, this is two different granites right? I picked 2 slabs of honed Nero Mist at MSI surfaces but this one piece on the left looks and feels different. I’ll call the slab place and ask if both slabs were picked up, so wonder if they only bought one and snuck in a spare piece they had trying to fool me? Or could it be they were polished a piece it and now it looks different?

Melanie, the last photo you posted looks like two different stones at the seam (worse than 2 different slabs). I hope they will replace for you.

I am hoping they will but it will probably be a fight. I should have researched them better but my neighbor used them recently and gave rave reviews so I just called them.

Oh no. That is NOT acceptable, they look like two different stones abutting one another. Absolutely demand a re-do.

We’ll they came and fixed the marked and they are beautiful! They swear the stone is from the sister slab of the one it’s butted up to. They will send pics of what was left over from the second slab.
Now to move onto choosing the backsplash!

You should have removed the backsplash before the install, be very careful now so as not to damage. I would cover it in ram board.

He sent 2 guys to polish out some marks on the island and somewhat fix some wall damage
He never showed up to assess the granite mismatch
Can I hire someone else to remove the piece that doesn’t match and replace with matching granite (I think there is a sister slab to it at the MSI warehouse where I picked it out)
Or do I have to rip out the whole counter?
