If you have bedrooms on the second floor it is a cape. If not, then a ranch. It's definitely not Craftsman. The exterior is not that bad. However, we can't see the garage door in this picture. What color is it? Is the front door black? Also would help to be able to see a close up of the color of the stone.

I would Paint the siding & trim white. Paint the door a color, not black. (looks like you like red?)

The front door is actually black. The rock is 1970’s brown field stone (I think?) And we do not necessarily like red, it just worked out that way. Lol!! I figure we will need to replace the windows, siding and garage door. Was thinking about cedar shake shingle siding above the garage door🤔

And cape style? Really? I never in a million years would’ve guessed, reeeally glad that I asked😅

Check out Romaabio if you think you might like to change the color of the stone. They do masonry paint/stain and can also do color matching to your palette.

It's an attractive ranch house. Since you recently moved in, what are the chances of parking the cars and trucks in the garage? Then a coat of paint to match the siding would look good on the garage door. You can clean the driveway with a pressure washer and have the cracks in the concrete fixed when the weather is right for your area.

Forest green shutters and front door could look good. Try cutting some foam core to the size of the shutters, paint it with your sample, and then prop up in front of the shutters.

I can see why you thought Craftsman - your front door is Craftsman. Probably changed by a previous owner. House built in the '50's or '60's? But now that I see a picture of the back of your house, it's definitely a cape. Capes are usually styled Colonial. If you buy a new front door you can get one with some glass if you want light. For instance, three small panes across the top. But if your style is more modern you can get something else. Your house doesn't really demand to be Colonial. You could go modern farmhouse if that's what you really want, even though that's not what I would prefer. :-)

There are so many ways you can go with colors, so you should think about what you like before starting. There are thousands of pictures on Houzz you can look at. Compile an Ideabook to figure out what appeals to you. Then if you still can't decide what to do, post a picture of your inspiration (favorite picture(s)) and people will make suggestions. Then when Spring comes you will be ready to paint. I would definitely repair the driveway when the weather gets warmer as once it starts breaking up it is only going to get worse.

Adorable house. I’d do a white shmear over the stone. And paint the siding white.

When you can focus on the hardscaping I’d fix up the driveway and the plant beds up front.

You can paint the door. Or trim. Or both. Or none.
The black will go either way.

Beef up the porch posts.

Really doesn’t need much other than paint. And some more substantial posts.

I'd paint the siding a deeper tan/bronze, blending in with one of the deeper stone tones. Timeless.

Aside from power washing the rock on the house, I don’t want to touch it - Our last house had the exact same rock. We first tried the over-grout/shmear, then the RomaBio, then we finally settled on primer’ing the rock and painting it, along with the siding - Sherwin Williams, White Duck. It turned out great but was a LOT of work. I really like the deep navy blue siding paired with a rich-brown/cedar wooden garage door. I wish I could upload pics of my ideas. :-/

The stone looks like veneer - thin slices of rock cemented to the house. Not 3 dimensional big pieces of rock that are part of the structure. I've seen YouTube videos where someone with a power chisel makes short work of rock veneer. It pops off when you chisel it from the side. Then face the house with whatever you like.

Since you have more than two vehicles ... where the driveway is damaged, consider creating a double parking space there as you repair it ... between the cracked place and the tree closer to the house and then rethink your landscaping..

Current painted exterior works well with the brick ... as would using another color from within the brick if you decide to paint the exterior painted siding.

If there is no "upstairs" room above the garage, you might consider adding a window to the forward facing gable over the garage to enable natural light to enter into the garage. and/or You might consider creating an arbor or "overhang" roof over the garage doors ... letting the overhang be a continuation of the overhang on the sides of the garage that wrap around the front of the gable.

Would actually prefer the shutters used on a window above the garage than on the front.

Do you have or want a patio door on that right side of the house? Next spring, you might consider whether or not you'd want or use a wrap around porch that gives you a covered outdoor living/seating area on the right side of the house ... one that you might visually separate from the front yard and view of the road with a green fence. Before making a decision, do consider what adding a porch on the end would do to the natural light entering the rooms on the end of the house and consider using skylights or greenhouse roof panels for the roof of a side porch.

Would likely remove the shutters but wouldn't make any drastic changes to the house until at least next spring ... live in it a while and see what you truly like and don't like and / or need.
