I do all my prunning in the spring

If it's a once-bloomer, prune in summer right after flowering. If it's a repeat-bloomer, I'd wait until spring. But do you have issues with plants breaking from the weight of snow, as a1an brought up, in your zone?

I think it depends on your climate. Here in Tuscany, Italy,it's best to pruning time is from late autums to late winter ;very early spring at the latest.

They are Sevillana roses and usually they bloom then I dead head spent flowers as they die off. And the plant blooms again and lasts till frost. But pruning horizontal canes I was not sure if to do them in fall or Spring

Where are you Frank?

Rhode Island

You could probably prune in Winter or Spring there, Frank. If you were really in a very cold zone, pruning now would be wrong.

Having one of those Climate Change Mild Winters so far.

I'm waiting for the cold to creep in and stay so that I know things are dormant and I cull some of these down.

Anybody else here waiting for Ma Nature to put things to sleep
