Grout Decisions - Mapei Rain

Greetings everyone. We are amidst full kitchen renovation- drywall and sanding are complete and I am told the cabinets begin being installed on Monday.

We need to make a grout decision very soon. We are going with cool grey cabinets, white quartz countertops (MSI Carrara Lumos) and 3x12 white subway tile with a polished but “wavy” texture.

I am leaning towards Mapei rain for the grout. I am looking for a light cool grey color. I realize it has a blue undertone but am hoping it won’t read blue when on the walls.

The subway tile in a portion of the kitchen will go to the ceiling behind the range hood. A good portion of the wall will be tile so it’s important we get the grout color right.

I also don’t want it to be too dark. I’d like it dark enough to see the pattern of the tile, but not so dark it ends up overpowering everything else or looks busy.

Rain seems to check all these boxes and is on the cool side which I like - I just don’t want it to be too blue so that it ends up looking blue instead of grey.

It’s hard to find info on it, unlike other colors in the Mapei line such as Warm Grey (which I find too warm) or Frost (also too warm). I’m hoping there’s not a reason for that. If anyone has this grout color against a white tile it’d be greatly appreciated.

I’m also considering Mapei silver but am afraid of it being too dark.

Thank you in advance!
