Q for Induction users or experts

Have you ever heard of an induction plate?

I'm reading an explanation from a cookware manufacturer in their FAQs where they say their cookware (which has no metal of any kind in it) can be used on induction when using an induction plate. So an induction ready plate that then transfers heat to this not metal cookware? I've never heard of such a thing, a quick search turned up nothing for that purpose.

It's interesting cookware and quite nice looking. My son just purchased a few pieces but they have a gas stove. So far they like it although it doesn't have the quite non-stick properties to the degree implied.

I don't really need any new induction cookware at this time but was curious about this induction plate idea. I imagine the loss of energy/heat would be far from efficient which is one of the many things I love about my induction stove.

This is the cookware.
