Corner kitchen sink help

We are renovating the kitchen which has a corner sink against the windows. We are retaining the sink in the same spot and as per the design, we will be installing a 36“ base cabinet. Countertop will be granite.

We are going with stainless steel undermount sink possibly with a fake platform behind the sink to cover the empty space. Here is the dimensions of the base cabinet. We were advised to install a D sink in this spot. But I would like to hear from the experts. On a side note, we will be installing the garbage disposal as well.

Kindly suggest the options for a reasonably good deep sinks - dimensions, shape, and brand that has

Less sound and vibration
Resistance to rust

Also 16 gauge vs 18 gauge - does it matter ?

Thank you!!

A little late to the discussion, but posting in case you are still looking or others need some direction. We craft custom corner sinks to fit any space. We use 316L domestics stainless. The L is important because is stands for low carbon, which results in more resistance to corrosion. We also sound deaden our sinks. We can create corner sinks in copper, brass, bronze and stainless. The workstation options free up valuable counter space. Here is one example of a stainless steel corner sink. If you need any help with your project, we are happy to make suggestions: Rachiele Home Page

Rethink the corner sink to start please. If you must keep it, get a sink that can be pulled as far forward as possible. Corner sinks are notorious for having 7" between the front edge and the sink cutout; very undesireable.

Ditch the corner sink. They look ”cool” 🙄 but they woek horribly.

Unfortunately, we are too late to change this set-up ☹️ and have to stick to the corner sink. I wish I’m had known this 2 months back.

If the sink needs to be pulled forward as much as possible, then what are the options ? Is D sink the best?

This is a very tiny 8x8 kitchen remodel I did back in 2004 or so. Her sink area is also a 36x36 corner sink cabinet FRONT ONLY (meaning it has no sides. She has a base end panel on the left to separate it from the single undercounter oven. We may have had to scoop out the side panel on the right (I can't recall now!)....she went with a D shaped sink and it works great for her.

Just do stainless steel. Thicker materials like cast iron and composite will just result in a smaller interior basin and complicate the fit. I like Ruvati and MRDirect stainless sinks. I'm sure there are other great brands, those are the two I like to spec out for my clients.
