I would remove the big window and install a double door for an entrance, and replace the existing door with a window.. Build a big deck on the front.

how budget friendly are we talking? if it needs to be super budget friendly:

Take down that big metal thing on the left, and paint the rocks and stairs matte black. This will be a bold look, but I think that would go perfectly with the white siding and green trim, and will be a good holdover until you can do a real reno in the future. Then paint the door green to match the trim, and add / update with a few fun accessories, such as new lighting, house numbers, etc.

Also paint over the thin white trim on the bay window, it's distracting.

Add to the landscaping and give that overgrown bush a major trim to let more light into the home.

There are really any number of ways you can go.

Faux stone or not, I personally like it - so I think I would keep that, and do the siding in a color that complements the stone. This also would give the house more of a cohesive look, which it is lacking now. The white trim directly adjacent to the stone (in my below visual) should also be in the darker color; the visualizer is not cooperating with me.:) And I would put the rest into landscaping + lighting on house/grounds.

Get rid of the bush on the right. Making one window longer is going to look odd. Hang some black paper under that window in the size you are extending it to and look at it for a few days. Stairs should face front.

Removing that monster shrug and landscaping the yard will do wonders. I'm sure you can find a landscape plan that will fit your budget.
