How do I patch this?

This is not a great photo, but it's a hole in my drywall, about 3" x 1.5". The electrican cut it when he wired for the kitchen vent hood (that's the yellow wire sticking out). Our GC patched all the rest of the drywall, but for some reason he missed this. I really don't want to get him back out here for this little hole, especially since it will be behind the vent hood for all of eternity. Or at least until we sell the house. And I really don't want to buy a whole panel of sheet rock, cut it, apply drywall mud, wait for the coats to dry, etc. Any ideas on how to just close this up without all that hassel? Again, it is super tiny and will be hidden behind a vent hood. I don't care what it will look like.
