You can buy the appliance as Custom Panel Ready and Samsung describes how to replace the panels. But I don't see any information on panel dimensions so I think "custom panel" refers to the panels available from Samsung. If you want to design your own panels, you should probably buy a model designed for them such as this Fisher Paykel refrigerator.

Of course you could always buy one Samsung panel and use it as a template for panels your design yourself.

I have a Samsung French door that works like a dream, but have recently ordered the bespoke for an upcoming kitchen remodel because I needed counter depth for the new placement. I do hope it works longer than 18 months Verbo.

The cabinet of the $2400 Samsung RF24BB6200APBespoke refrigerator (for example) is counter depth at 24" but the entire refrigerator is 28-3/4" deep. But the $1,530 stainless steel Samsung RF18A5101SR non-Bespoke is also counter depth (at 24-1/2" and 28-1/8") so it isn't necessary to go the Bespoke route to get counter-depth from Samsung.

Unfortunately, no. This type of fridge is not intended for panels that are not Samsung specific. If you really wanted to you could possibly figure it out, but my carpenter decided not to bother.

@bassnboards04: You're trying to blame everybody except yourself for your lack of due diligence in selecting the appliance. Why don't you just buy stainless steel panels for it and be done with it? And you're not going to get away with violating the warranty by not adhering to its requirements. The Samsung agent probably just got tired of your "chasing" him.

Personally, I love my Samsung panels and they’re coming out with new color options all the time. The glass panels are so easy to clean. Why bother with other custom panels?

Depends on the type. Samsung side-by-side refrigerators are average in reliability per CR survey.

Just wondering if anyone actually did custom panels to match their cabinetry? I am looking at a panel ready fridge for our remodel but the prices are so high. Is there a reasonable solution or, like everything else, it's a choice to suck up the cost or not go custom?

Update on my end: the cabinet fabricators and I have come up with a design for the truly custom panels being affixed to samsungs panels. I would suggest anyone considering this option to spend the few extra thousand dollars to get truly panel ready appliances. Unfortunately it is a high end look for a reason - to achieve it for real costs a lot of money. These samsung panels are so thin that having real wood affixed to them will cause the wood to sit proud of the fridge by basically the entire thickness if the wood. if you have reveals between the freezer and fridge (3 door model) that will show the thickness of the wood. also, the way the doors open mean that side panels will be extremely complicated. the hinges of these doors arent meant to be concealed. the fridge is meant to sit a few inches proud of your cabinets (not truly counter depth, but almost all fridges are the same way). Truly built in fridges have hinges designed to open ”in place” and not add width to the fridge when it opens. Its a look Im dead set on but unfortunately not able to afford without a nonideal workaround like this. please do not tell me that an image of wood grain printed on a metal panel looks the same as a real wood panel - it doesnt. Any architect in the world who couldnt pick out one over the other would be fired on the spot. I will update with pictures of the installed project as soon as it is finished.

Why not just get a panel ready fridge and not bother with this bespoke one at all. I have heard so not good reviews on this fridge but I must say I love the panels they have that is what makes the fridge attractive to me.

I wish I could afford one but they cost a few thousand more typically.

Home Depot sells 0.02" thick wood veneer. Perhaps it could be attached to a Samsung panel (or even a plexiglass panel of the proper size) to create a wood-front refrigerator. You could combine "wood" panels with Samsung panels for an interesting look.

For goodness sake, instead of putting lipstick on a pig…trying to make this scam of a Samsung, something it isn’t…get the real thing. If not SZ, get the less expensive Bosch or Liebherr. You will go through at least 2 of those ”Bespoke” fridges in 10 years, compared to one Bosch that will still be going strong, in 15 years.

@bassnboards04 Any updates? I’m considering this approach because we want a standard depth with panels and I dont despise the all white Bespoke if it doesn’t work.

My counter-depth Samsung panel fridge still going strong. Hope I haven’t jinxed myself. It’s the perfect size and panels are so easy to clean.

On a model like the Samsung, it is just going to look weird and unattractive.Adding weight is a recipe for hinge failure and a voided warranty. Not that it will last much past the warranty expiration to begin with. Get a Sub Zero if you want a built in refrigerator.

Ill have an update in mid august after the cabinets get installed. i can say now though that this fridge wont give you the fully integrated look - the gap between doors that is a result of the reveal-style pulls makes it stand out as an appliance. and the way they do hinges makes it require more clearance to be able to open fully as ipposed to true integrated appliances like a Miele. we ended up having to creae half a dozen seams/receals to accommodate doors opening. thankfully the wood is dark so it will be less noticeable. more with photos in a few weeks

@wdccruise The two different models you gave have other different features. The Bespoke version has a refillable water pitcher and 4 interior fridge drawers inside while the non-Bespoke has no refillable water pitcher and only has 2 interior fridge drawers inside. Both versions do have lower freezer scoopable ice makers.

It was more about the 4 interior drawers. I’m not sure how I will organize the move from 3 drawers to 2. Ha ha re the juice jug. I'm not as fussed about filtered water. There's always Britta or adding a filtered water faucet to our sink.

Just to add to the discussion. Even if you can afford a panel ready fridge, please note that the height on most true built-ins is far greater than the standard refrigerator. The standard height is around 70-72 and the true built ins are more like 80" tall. Even if I could afford it, the built in styles do not fit in the height of my space which has cabinetry all around it. Secondly, I currently want to replace a 20 year old side by side that has custom maple cabinet fronts. At that time, there were several options for panel ready free- standing refrigerators and the cost was no more than a refrigerator with a SS front. I mean really???....why should the exact same refrigerator with a front cost less than one without a front? I think it must be a marketing gimmick to get people to spend more money for the built-in look. A free standing, counter depth, with cabinet panels looks nearly as nice as a built in. If you have the extra 10" in height and budget, I can see that a true built in might cost more due to ventilation and hinges.....though not double. Bottom line....there is no reason that manufacturers don't have free standing models with panel-ready options in addition to their custom built in lines for people who don't have $10,000 to spend on a fridge but want a matching look.

Those panels just accentuate how far out the fridge sticks out from the cabinets. I just don’t see the esthetic benefit.

Yes, but one wonders whether a Samsung bespoke refrigerator might be able to be pushed further into a deeper cutout as shown in the customer photo from the company website.

darbuka... yes, fridge sticks out a littler farther than i would like, but it was a workaround that I could live with. Cabinets were built off-site and this type of fridge was new at the time. Also, much nicer than layout that was there before in my 1860s house.

It's a customer photo posted to the Samsung website. The sides of the drawers are fully exposed. The ntinksrus refrigerator is pulled out further than this one.

Unless Samsung is suddenly building true built-in fridges, with the expensive special hinges SZ uses, that ”Bespoke” model cannot be fully flush with the cabinets AND have the doors open. Period.

Bassnboards04....any updates/pics? Working on exact same project (also a Bespoke 4-door with no factory panels). Interested in any tips/suggestions you may have on how you attached your custom panels to the doors.

I'm the architect who had these appliances put in and the cabinet maker just make standard door panels that we affixed to the Samsung custom panels to install. After living with them for a year, I would NOT recommend this option. The door hardware on the fridge is not made to support the weight of a full wood panel. I haven't discovered any real issues yet, but every time I open the doors, I can tell it's more weight than should be on the door. The dishwasher ends up being very top heavy and I had to use some brackets to keep the unit from tipping forward when the door (which tends to slam down from the weight if you aren't intentional about being gentle when opening) is open. Above all, the look people are imagining with the custom cabinet fronts is totally seamless. This fridge is not designed to be totally seamless with regards to the clearances when opening. The fridge will either have to stick out from the wall (destroying the illusion of seamlessness) or have plentiful breathing room on either side to allow the doors to open fully - which will probably end up looking awkward.

Did I spend 50% less than true panel-ready appliances to get appliances with my exact cabinet doors on them? Yes. Is it the same as having true panel-ready appliances? Certainly not. I don't quite understand why more budget friendly options for cabinet integration haven't come out. If you do attempt to take this on, I would suggest being very meticulous and early with your planning. Make sure you double check every single dimension (open and closed) for clearances and tolerances, then add at least a 1/2". And make sure your cabinet fabricator & installer are well aware at all times that this is not a standard job and they should anticipate extra work to accommodate.

Pay more for a worse result. Got it. Standard trying to outsmart yourself tactic.

1. Brackets that attach the dishwasher to the cabinet are supplied with the dishwasher and are required to prevent the dishwasher from tipping.
2. Some dishwashers have springs that can be adjusted to accommodate the weight of the door. This Samsung dishwasher doesn't because it's not anticipated that a panel other than the bespoke panel supplied will be attached.

• Custom-panel integrated/built-in refrigerators are expensive to buy and install. However, KitchenAid does make theKRFC302EPA which is freestanding and accepts panels, though it's not cheap at $3500.
• Dishwashers: The custom-panel Frigidaire FDSR4501AP is $800 while the Bosch SHV4AEB3N is $900.

Kitchen aid panel ready looks just as awful as the Samsung.

Yes, the door will have to extend beyond the cabinet, just as this stainless steel front model does, but I'm not sure it has to be pulled out as far as shown in the photo above. (I'm not saying that the KRFC302EPA looks great but it appears to be the only solution for someone who wants panel-ready without the expense and installation bother of an integrated model.)

I bought the Bespoke Refrigerator with black glass uppers and dark stainless lowers. I didn't like the way that the two different blacks looked. I have orange accents in my kitchen so I wanted to match that color but cannot buy them anywhere so I removed the lower faces and wrapped them in automotive vinyl wrap. After heating them with a heat gun, they turned out quite well for the 26.00 dollars that I spent on the small roll purchased from Amazon.
