My son just replaced a window in his 1980 house in Cottonwood, MN with a vinyl Hayfield casement. I was hesitant about the selection until hubby and son finished the install. Was very impressed with the final product, look and quality. It’s definitely better than what was originally there.

Where did you buy the windows that you previously installed(is that the rum river reference)? Did you like them?

If you want something that will keep the room warmer, pay attention to the U value and air infiltration ratings. There aren't a lot of great options at box stores, but local building supply houses/lumber yards often have something decent.

Being in a bathroom and painted white, vinyl would probably be best. A good vinyl window generally has better performance in the ratings mentioned above as well.

Used to work in anoka and heard good things about rum river. seems rum river wood went thru banktruptcy and reopened and does only doors now. i think. i got an all wood crestline last time. clad exterior. not operating. we have had no issues with it. almost never open bath window.
