countertop backsplash plus tile?

I’m doing a new kitchen and planning medium gray quartzite countertop with light green sliced pebble backsplash.
Question is whether to include 4” of quartzite backsplash along bottom of backsplash wall to blend to countertop, or rather to pebble tile all the way to countertop surface. Pros and cons?

No to 4” backsplash if you are also doing tile backsplash.
