Arborist woodchips are an excellent mulch that will improve the soil as it decomposes. Woodchips are much lighter in weight than gravel or dirt. That will make your son and partner happy.

That's good to know, because I will most likely do most of it! lol

I'm thinking of doing this for my (large) vegetable garden going forward. We had a massive willow taken down in the late winter, and they left the stump grindings - made a terrific mulch, and while yes it was a lot of work wheelbarrowing it from front of house to back, it was worth the effort. I'm thinking I can call that tree company, which I've used a few times already, and see if they'll do a drop for me on occasion.

I hope they dump on hard surface ( drive way ) use aluminum " coal shovel "

put wooden walls on 3 sides inside the trailer to extend the capacity

it does help.. if you can leave the pile stand for a year ... so leaves and stuff break down ... but you need space for that ...

I've got plenty of space. And I'm trying to do away with the grass. Brought a truckload of cardboard home and invested in Ornamec. Started the process, just need to hit it hard next few years and smother the crap out of it so I can make new beds! Dug out and created about 8 new beds this year. Partner upset because he just got a lawn tractor. Says he won't need it in few years. lol

One could only dream....lol

I plan on using it for pathways, compost, and lasagna beds. Oh, the work, though!

He wasn't amused. I can do it myself. I'm tenacious and always thinking of the 'big picture'. Plenty of plans to inspire myself and provide motivation. Working in the garden is my zen, anyway.

I do need to invest in pitch fork. Right now I use a snow shovel when I get mulch delivered. It moves a lot, but wears me out pretty quickly.

I thought about using the huge tarps I have to drag loads to the back with the garden tractor. Seems as long as I don't try to do too much at one time and wrap it well, it would work.

Guess I should learn how to drive the tractor,huh? lol (I'm willing!)

I thought I was all tuckered out from showing off---and I was feeling a little jealous of your score, to be honest---but two things happened yesterday. A.) I discovered that someone had left me a huge pile of wood chips in my driveway, so I'm less jealous, and b.) I'm feeling rejuvenated and think I can resume bragging. Pictures to follow.

Ken, those shovels are nice, but last time I paid for pine bark fines, I figured out that our wide,plastic, lightweight snow shovel works awesome!

Oh, I live in area that tornado went through couple nights ago. I was mad cause all the crazy wind was blowing my oak leaves off the trees and into the neighbors yards. They are out raking today.

I asked them for my leaves back! lol They are dropping the bags over the fence as we speak!
