I've only over loaded my front loader once and the machine let me know.

I don't remember what the load consisted of but I think it had large bulky items that got very heavy when wet (blankets and such).

I always watch the machine (especially when I first got the front loader, to watch detergent dose/suds level and load size amount).

Well the Electrolux must have sensed either belt slippage or too much resistance trying to tumble and threw an error (Call For Service).

I took out one of the large items (you can pause the Electrolux at any point with out it draining and open the door), restarted the cycle and it was fine.

I wouldn't suggest a full drum in any machine.

The max I put in is when I wash bedding, California king waterbed sheets (top/bottom), mattress pad, 4 king pillow cases and duvet cover.

georgect, that is a pretty impressive load for the machine to handle. My LG would have given me a fit trying to balance it for a final spin. Curious as to how many towels can you easily wash at one time.

Sometimes it has a hard time trying to balance my bedding load of laundry, sometimes it's not an issue, it just depends.

When I do my white regular load, it will have 4 bath towels, 2 hand towels and 2 face cloths along with underwear for the week and 4-5 white kitchen towels and maybe a few pair of white socks.

I think I need to explain in more detail regarding laundry loads.

I see demos/examples/adverts that show howto load stuff. In the beginning all loads I see depicted are neatly folded FLAT no matter what is to be washed. If the stuff are folded flat, the load size/amount seen would be differerent than when stuff is just tossed in where the stuff is fluffy(?) with lots of air pockets. e.g. my queen bedding load usually look like nearly full in the 4.5 cf tub; if folded flat, the bedding won't amount to hald or maybe 1/3. Towels look to be around 40% to 30% maybe as when I placed the bath towel on either side of the bath mat then the other miscellenous towel, the load looks much smaller than when I just tossed all the towels into the tub.

So for dosing the detergent, when it is stated 1/3, 1/2 or 3/4 of the tub for loads, it makes some difference(?) how much detergent & how the laundry loads are done. I am just curious but not enough to experiment.
