Meyco Rugged Mesh vs. Merlin Smart Mesh

We have had a new in ground pool installed installed. we live in NJ we dont have too many trees near pool. We need to purchase a winter cover for pool and I received estimates for these two covers but price difference is substantial by a couple of thousand dollars. Can you give your opinion based on experience about either of these covers? Thanks so much

Ive been a Meyco dealer for 35 years so I'm a bit partial. The standard mesh will work just fine. They have for many years. The rugged mesh is quite heavy.

I have a special order cover coming in for a pool we built and it's the standard mesh.

The key to a clean pool in the spring is to open the pool early. Mid April. You can even leave the cover on and start up the filter after certain trees and plants stop blossoming. I have done this many times for many years.

The cost to operate for a couple of weeks is cheap compared to dumping a ton of chemicals in when most people open mid-May.
