Do you need the curtains to go all the way to the top of the windows? If not, I'd lower the curtain. Problem solved.

Can you open curtains so window can be seen. Do you need privacy? The door looks very odd and perhaps a simple blind may be less overwhelming and duplicate on door.

I totally agree with Patricia. It would look much more balanced that way.
