If you were planning on a tile backsplash then the current 4" backsplash should not have been installed. Stacking one backsplash on top of another is just not the way backsplashes are handled in kitchens.

The warm color of the tile you selected for the backsplash doesn't complement the coolness of your current counters.

Here is your kitchen with the tile floor you have selected. The tile IMO is too light to work in the space you have created.

Here are some alternate selections for the floor.

@BeverlyFLADeziner Thanks for the feedback. I couldn't find the full inspiration picture for flooring. You can see the snip it below. What color would this be? Part of me thinks I like the light beige floor tile with these cabinets and I am forcing wood look tile? I like traditional looks generally. I like stone look flooring as well.

simple with a shimmer will add the glamour you need.

Why did you do the 4” stone up your walls if you are doing a backsplash?

the tile above would enhance the natural light you have. it's from Wayfair.com Armangansett 4"x4".

I would choose a Midtone wood look tile for the flooring, a large format without much contrast.

The cabinets are dark and you'll need a contrast. a floor tile as dark as your cabinets will show dust.

Simple, quality is more attractive than trying to Notice all the different components. My opinion. Remember, you'll be Adding alot of Life's accesories...

@lynzy1 This is a tract home so the builder does it per the base plan. I wanted to do the backsplash after closing not with the builder.

I can see that the inspo picture has a flooring with decidedly grayish tones, however, the flooring you selected does not have those gray tones. Can you see the difference in the pictures below???
