I would suggest you do some research into the genetics and practicality of growing worthwhile fruit trees from seed, unless, of course, you just want them for wildlife and to look pretty. Or for grafting onto. It would be several years before you got any fruit and there is no way of knowing if it would be of any quality.

I couldn't agree more! Virtually no popular fruit trees are grown from seed. All named forms - what you would find at the grocery or farm stand - are propagated asexually, generally by grafting. Also there is a regionality about many types of fruit trees, with specific cultivars typically recommended for specific areas. Often these do not necessarily correspond with what you are able to buy at the grocery. Commercial fruit production is quite distinct from home orchard fruit production :-)

But any seedling trees you do grow could become stock for grafting, if nothing else.
