How does this look?

I know wall letters is a dated look. But my husband loves it and won’t part with it 😩. I was gifted a map of the lake we live on. I can’t seem to find a place for it. Do you think this would work or does it look better without the map? Please ignore the toys/mess! 🤦‍♀️

Way too much in that small wall space. I'm not being mean but could the map go in a bathroom (everyone will see it there!) .

I totally agree after trying to do the mock-ups! It’s way too busy. Thank you!

The HOME looks best by itself. I think its fine to have words on the wall. I have a saying on my kitchen mat that I like. Decorate your home with items and words that you like!

I have managed to find space for art and art-like objects in a lot of places - entry ways, halls, stair wells, bathrooms, the laundry, the kitchen, even a walk in closet. Keep looking, you'll find somewhere that does work.

I think I might get it reframed with a lighter mat and black frame and hang it vertically in my upstairs hallway.

Love the map hate theHOME at least find a spot wher eit is all in one line.

Is there a garage your husband would be willing to relocate his home letters to? A laundry room? The map is neat.

OH, ME ! You could just change it around a little. Honestly, if your husband loves the letters, leave them alone. The map is great. Find a place for it to be the star.

Would put the four letters in a single row wherever they're hung -- vertically or horizontally..

Would not put the map and words together.

Better without the map........or maybe put the map underneath the ME.

It looks too busy. I’ll keep searching for the right spot. Thank you for helping me with my decision!! I appreciate your input!

I think art (in whatever form) is a very personal decision. I really dont understand why people outsource their art decisions to complete strangers. I wont give you an opinion on the word art because again, thats a personal choice to me but i will say the letters are huge and need a better spot than to be jammed between the windows. Same thing with the map. If looking at those pieces brings your husband joy and youre ok with it, find them a home lol. The people you are asking for advice here dont live with you or love what you love.

    That’s great advice m riz. I agree.

HO ME and ME HO I’m not a homie and I’m not a Ho!! Find a place where it fits in one row. What about above a door frame?

As others have mentioned, the let's and map don't work together.  The letters should be in one line somewhere else in your home. Although the map print is lovely, the space is calling for a vertical print, not a horizontal piece.  It looks to cramped in the space.

I'd be inclined to get a better frame and matt for the map and hang it vertically there, and find somewhere else for the letters.

I like your idea of reframing the map with a better coordinating mat. i would play around with those letters too. All I see is Ho Me

I actually like the HOME as it is. I don’t like it on a diagonal or vertically.

The maps also nice! But yes, not there...

Letters overtake that wall and would be more suitable on their own as a fun focal point.

The map feels squeezed in and if wanting something there, see size/shape below.

In general, look for the best location vs trying to fill a space that is not quite right and both the piece and room will benefit.

You could get white bristol board from a craft store and I think it would really make the map pop.

Keep the print of the map hanging horizontally....which is how it is intended to hang, given the writing in the upper left hand corner. It is famed and matted nicely; hang it where will fit correctly.

What a gorgeous map. Please put it in a special place that is now where near toys or HOME. It needs a space of its own. Although the letters are a lot to look at, it's nice that your husband likes them. Kind of sweet. Got an entry wall behind the front door, backdoor, near a laundry room? They just don't seem right in the middle of a room.

M Riz is spot on … Good advice.

Agree the letters should be on their own as shown in Maureen's examples.

The map is really nice. Give it its own place to star and hang it horizontally.

Tracy Woods nailed it, but maybe that’s why the husband likes it… 😳

I think both looks crowded. I'd pick one or the other.

    Tilt the o maybe?

If you separate the word and the map I'll look much better. And the suggested vertical word arrangement is better as well.

Not to be vulgar but if you read the letters in their present orientation as two lines it doesn't say home. Would consider reorienting them in the vertical or diagonal.

Okay, you all have convinced me to move the letters! Haha
