Awkward, uneven corner windows

We’ve been in our new house for almost one month. We’ve had shades/blinds installed, but I’m not sure if I should add drapes to soften this space in our great room. The windows aren’t evenly spaced from the corner! Leave alone or dress??? And how?!

You know, I think it looks so pretty with the light flowing into the room. I believe I would keep them drape free.

(Please look past the current furniture and stuff. It’s not staying.)

The windows being not the same color bothers my OCD.

They are the same color- black.

The window behind the tree is black? It looks very different from the trio of black windows on the left. Perhaps there is far less black trim on the single window?

I don’t see the shades/ blinds on the windows.

The shades are all the way up during the day. And the trim and grids are the same on all the windows. Must just be the glare making it look different.

I personally do not like drapes, and there really isn’t enough room. It would make your windows look small. I really like your shades.
Maybe paint the trim around the window, a color in your room. Maybe bigger table and lamp.

Personally, I think it's the scale of your furniture and not the window treatments or lack there of.  Get a longer console table that is closer to the length of your windows and add a tall vase or plant near the door for balance.  Then get a smaller end table between the sofas so your eyes don't get caught on it.

Curtains all the way. Windows are a hard material so they need something to help soften them. I have a window that isn't centered on the wall 42in on 1 side and freaking 38 on the other (who ever built our house didn't believe in rulers I swear). I use curtains to hide this fact. Maybe just bring the curtains to the 1 side though to help balance out the narrow wall. Bigger console table and then have the lamp on the opposite end of the curtains to help balance.

Drapes, hung high, kissing the floor( weighted) , find a rod with some nice corbels that make a statement. It will finish the space- no need to close them just a decorative finishing accent in a neutrals or one of your pop colors.

We can't see much of the room yet, but I see a bit of country traditional... do you want the black to go in direction of transitional [maybe using textured items], or to blend with arches and softer looks? If you like certain fabric patterns, curtains.

Thanks, all! Already have a larger console table ordered. These are items that worked in our previous house, but not so much here. Thank you again for your suggestions!

I would wait until all the furniture is set so you can see what kind of drapes would be best, if at all. Looks like a lovely new home!

From what I can tell, the windows are centered in the exterior wall, but the interior wall juts in to define two different rooms. Regardless, I don’t understand the problem you have with them. they look nice. Agree your furnishings are out of scale. i think when the tree comes down, you can better assess window treatments.
