Nice video, thanks for the link. There was a time when i would get very excited by this kind of thing, but my zone 6b is a bit more problematic! There are so many cool things i would be excited to grow if i lived in 8b or even 7b. For now, all of that stuff lives in the greenhhouse!

I love seeing this kind of stuff, thanks for the link, Dave. Makes me wish I had outdoor space so I could give it a try, though it's a toss up. As the tree gets larger I imagine it gets harder to protect it year after year. I'd be curious how much more the upper limit on size is in ground like that versus containerized and moved.

I think I could probably pull that off here in Northern VA, most years, BUT we tend to lose electrical power with nearly every bad windstorm. We just seem to be on a very weak part of the grid in my neighborhood. Often just one street over they keep their power. So frustrating. So, if it's really cold and we lose power, I have no easy way to heat the enclosure.

Steve, a gas water heater vents carbon monoxide. Are you saying the pipe just passes thru your greenhouse, or actually emits fumes within it?
