Bedroom side table decor

Are the mirrors too big? What kind of lamp should I put on the nightstand?

They are too big unless you want them to be the design star of the room.

Mirrors arentbsized properly but I wouldn't use any mirror here. I’d find your art for over the headboard which would be your focal point first.

I searched Houzz for mirrors over nightstands and found these two examples with similarly sized mirrors. One also has art over the headboard, one doesn’t (but the headboard is taller).

I think it's more the style of the mirrors that isn't working for me. I think you need a different color/style of frame for the mirrors - thicker and charcoal or black frames. But if it were me I would just not use mirrors there. It looks like you're trying for a more casual look than either of the two pictures the previous poster found. There is some utility to a mirror in a bedroom - maybe you have another spot where a mirror would work better, like over a dresser?

You definitely need art over the bed and since the room is contemporary, there are hundreds of different lamps you could use.

    Mirrors over nightstands are pointless.

Do you plan to do your hair or makeup in it?

    Is it reflecting something attractive?

    Is this Versailles?

The lamp height should be one that is appropriate for reading in bed when you are sitting up.

The height of the lamp should be the same height of the night stand plus a couple-three inches.

Depending on what else you plan to put on your nightstand, you may not want a table lamp, you prefer a wall sconce.

I would change your ceiling fixture which is generic and not particularly attractive.

I like the mirrors, but they are fighting the bed, i think you are leaning mcm boho but your bed screams more traditional contemp. if that makes any sence. I

I actually love the mirrors and assume you will be hanging them? We have a similar bed too! I think you need tall and bold lamps too. I do agree the light is ugh.

Any suggestions on lamps or ceiling light? Much appreciated!

Before going any further, I highly suggest stepping back so you can define a direction/look for the room.

If you search Pinterest for “master bedroom mood boards”, it will be really helpful. Even though some pieces will not resemble yours exactly, ie: headboard, nightstands, etc), in general you may find an overall look you really like. Then focus on the accessories for nightstands, bedding, lighting, seating, art, etc., which will make your decisions much easier, resulting in a well coordinated room.

You could try something like this with lamps in front of the mirrors:

We also might recommend adding a nice chandelier to the room.
