Marble queen pothos help!!

I’ve had this lovely pothos plant since May, it was doing well and thriving for months till october. it seems to be yellowing really really bad and I can’t figure out why. some yellow leaves are at rhe base but quite a number of them start in the middle of the vine.

It’s still actively growing new large variagted leaves but I want it to stop yellowing. I’ve lost probably 60/70 leaves across all 10 vines since October. I wouldn’t be so worried if it was a few leaves, but 60 is a lot.

It’s not root rot (I checked) it has been in the same location the whole time. West facing window. Temp is between 20 and 25 celcius. I check the soil before I water. sometimes I let it go a little limp first. After watering I notice 6/7 leaves instantly start to yellow ☹️

all my other plants are doing well but somehow the ”easiest” house plant is slowly dying 😞😞

thats a whole lot of plant for a very small pot ...

first.. propagate some pieces .... a fail safe if you will ... any pathos prop. vid will do:

the size of the pot.. and huge plant.. makes me think you are losing media ability to water properly ... you said you checked the roots... is there much media in the pot?? .. i suspect not .. so improper watering means leaves are sacrificed ....

you need to repot in a bigger pot.. and dont forget the most important thing in a pot is the media... not the plant... invest in good stuff ... i like anything called promix ... but never mg stuff ...

next ... where are you.. and is a forced air furnace involved.. and when did that start going? ... a drastic change in humidity can be a variable... but it would only be this bad if other things were causing the base issue ... in the sense.. that it would dry the pot faster ... and misting will not help ...

anyway.. get some pieces going.. repot this one ... and you should be all set ...

Some of the vines look very wrinkled which seems to indicate thirst. It could very well be what Ken said that it's root bound in that pot and no longer able to take up enough water to distribute to the longer vines.

How long has it been in the pot?

I suspect it was in the pot a while? I only got it in May and I havent repotted it. I was going to in the spring, but it may not survive that long.

I first noticed at the end of september/begining of october. I attached a photo for comparison from what it looked like in August.

Nothing has changed in terms of humidity, it hovers between 50 and 60. I don’t use the baseboard heater right below it to avoid frying my plants. It very well may be that it has outgrown it’s pot.

I’ll have to repot it. Only roots are left in the pot, but they all look very healthy.

When you water it, SOAK it. Put into a bucket to saturate it. Let it sit for a few minutes. Sometimes when soils get very dry, it becomes difficult to really water well.

Letting it dry to the point that there is wilting will cause the older leaves to fall off.
