When in doubt I paint it red & yeller and call it good.

The mid tone of the tile, and that blue is not cohesive with the tile- it’s too bright. Go back and match the tone of the blue in the tile.

When you picked the color for the living room did you realize how colorful it was going to be? Often we choose a color from a small sample and it looks kind of dead and gray, but once we fill 100+ sf of wall space we see much more of the color and it suddenly doesn't seem as grayed down.

Can you tell us the name of the paint color in the living room. You really do need the colors from one room to the next to work together, and matching the blue in the flooring would not work with the blue in the living room.

It is a really good idea to find a whole home color palette using 5-7 paint colors before you start painting each room.

Gosh I probably would have done the whole place in creamy white close to tile, and let all the decor and furniture speak colors.

I would start by trying to match up the colors in the tile with exact paint shades (get or borrow fan decks) NOT that you want to matchy-match your wall color to the tile - it just makes it easier to compare colors to come up with a comprehensive whole house palette (still would need to get paint samples to test).

Yes there is blue gray in your tile, but that doesnt mean you cant use a truer less gray blue.... it would just have to be a shade of blue in sync with your particular blue gray. Once you know your floor colors (sorry I cant telll on my dinky little monitor) you can decide on what related colors you want for a monochromatic scheme or look across opposite on the color wheel for complementary accent colors. Consider your wood tones as well.

Have you looked at the Williamsburg collection. Im not sure if they actually use natural pigments that would have been used 100+ yrs ago.... or if they are replicating the colors using modern chemical colorants.... either way they convey a nice "antiquey" vibe, but still works with contemporary colors/furnishings.

I like how the brown in the tile picks up the wood tones. On my monitor I don't see any blue in the tile. Perhaps some clarification? The living room is blue, but there is no tile in the living room (appears to be hardwood & an area rug) - correct? You are trying to pick a colour for the hallway where the tile is (some sort of blue for the hallway that won't clash with the living room walls) - correct? I have a 1920 Four Square and lots of Oriental

carpets as well as walls full of Native American art. I found in our last home , an 1890 Bungalow that using my art work and rugs really worked well to tie everything together. I have used the BM Affinity Deck and had fabulous results in that all coordinated extremely well. Hope this offers you a way to get continuity.
