Which tools/machines do you use to mince it?

What is preventing moss to grow in the cold compost pile?

Lack of oxygen, lack of light and lack of any growing attachment (rhizoids) to other compost ingredients.

You don't need to mince it.

What if I want to? :))

I asked my husband to make me a tool for that. It just like a mini mower blade, attached to a electric screw driver. I put dry moss into a bucket and mince it . Then pass it through a screen to separate unminced particles. Then repeat. Kind of fun to play with it. I add it to my potting mix, and to raised flower/ veggy beds, hopefully improving soil moisture keeping.
