You cannot be surprised that the wall color is the outlier here; at this point just ignore it and decorate as you planned.

How do you feel about buying new paint?

🤔🤔so ur saying just ignore couch and tie in everythg around it, is that correct 😬

I was thinking getting rid of some of the pillows on the couch, and doing some solid neutrals to help???

Ignore the wall color; your furniture is not fading quietly in the background :)

Get new covers for the throw pillows. Add a blanket throw In a moody navy; mix with some more modern or mid mod pieces.

New furnishings, or paint the walls to honor the warmth of that furniture. You're tired of the look, which is why you chose the paint. If you can't change furnishings? Can't update? A warm ivory paint, a golden beige.............and that is where your trouble begins. and Ends.

    Sorry. But this .............

    Or even this!!!!!

    ...lovely and traditional and WARM

Will not become these below with just paint,

What and who do you want to be????? EVEN with an update. ?

The paint, sorry to say, is a fail with your furniture and especially with its coverings.

Paint is a lot cheaper than furniture.

Lovely window and furniture! You can make the furniture (and floor) work with the walls by repainting.

It's really hard to tell based upon this one corner of the room, but it doesn't look so terrible to me. Try adding different pillows in varying shades of green perhaps, and get artwork on those walls. Don't try to match your artwork to the walls or furnishings, but hang things you love and work on developing an eclectic style.

You could have your furniture reupholstered but that may end up costing as much as buying new furniture. As others have suggested and I second those opinions - repaint the walls a color that blends with your furniture. Also, do what you can to tone done the furniture fabric with pillows, throws, etc. Good luck!

What color is that paint? We all see different colors on computer monitors, so I wouldn’t be so quick to advise going scorched earth here and changing everything.

Can you show some more of the room? And share the name of the color?
