Help selecting new Exterior Doors

My house has 2 exterior doors - front (south) and back (north) doors that are in dire need of replacing as they have large gaps in the bottom and the last rains here in Los Angeles allowed a lot of water to come in under the door. As a note I purchased this house understanding it was a fixer upper and needs some (a lot) of work. I have a number of concurrent projects right now, so my budget is a bit tight.

I have a trusted handyman who has agreed to install new doors for me and now I am trying to figure out what the best option is. Stock is limited and I wanted to get something installed ASAP to prevent further damage to my hardwood floors as more rain is coming. The frames are already pretty bad and need to be redone.

I was looking a Therma Tru Prehung doors at Lowes that range from $400-$500. Is this a wise decision anticipating I am likely to only own the home for the next 3-5 years before buying something larger. I just want something modern and clean, however I'd like to pain the exterior doors black (which not sure if a south facing black fiberglass door would last very long).

Otherwise is there a better suggestion? My main constraints are to stop the leaking and for it to be instock so the work can be done ASAP.
