I was thinking a dark moody mid century color with the brick?

You really need someone to address the erosion problem on the lake side. Might have something to do with how the water is channeled away from the downspout on the side of the house. Some older mature shrubs need to be removed or pruned back. Maybe some trees too. Some repairs to the siding are in order. Need a close up of the brick.

I would look to the colors in your bricks for colors to use on the rest of the house. (They're too small in the picture to see clearly from here.)  I would use one of the lighter colors, possibly the mortar color, for the body of the house, a medium color for the trim, and the dark color for the front door and accessories like light fixtures.

The roof and bricks are your "givens," so any new color has to harmonize with those. We need a good closeup of the brick, which is in warm, reddish shades as is the roof.

If you have a limited budget, spend it on beautiful new patio furniture, possibly a pergola on the lake side, and upgrade your landscaping on the other side with hardscaping like stepping stones to the front door.

The house looks fine to me. You really need to find a ground cover and tidy up the lines of your path. Wild strawberry and 3-toothed cinquefoil might be options.
