I need to see the cabinet color and I never like honed or leathered finish on real stone a nice factory polish is always IMO a better choice for everyday use. I usually do not like grays and tans together

Lots of blogs that say to stay clear of honed counters as there are issues with cleaning them.

You have to clean ANY counter top. Honed and leathered are two different things. How clean are you? How do you feel about smudges or fingerprints? Are you willing to seal, to maintain? Your question is too broad, and more than anything, your layout is your first concern, no matter build or remodel.

Where is the kitchen layout?

I've many clients with both leathered and honed tops, and none have "issues" .

Thank you for responding!! I dont have a great picture its called limestone, my kids call it white with a tan. I usually like light counters but think dark would be a nice contrast. Looks like I should not go with honed.

What I see on my monitor looks like a nice combination. I like the natural flooring color rather than the gray some homeowners like. Unlike Patricia, I love honed stone. It is much less formal than polished, but it can get marked up. I have honed Jet Mist granite and it's by far my favorite but you can see marks in some light. I've never sealed it, nor have I resealed my Danby marble, which is etched. Your choice depends on your tolerance for imperfection, and for looks/aesthetics versus care and upkeep. Personally I look at a kitchen as a work room, not a showroom. I am careful with all the surfaces and materials, and keep everything very clean, but marks on counter tops, wood flooring, and cabinetry are all signs of use and normal wear and tear.
