I need to see the cabinet color and I never like honed or leathered finish on real stone a nice factory polish is always IMO a better choice for everyday use. I usually do not like grays and tans together

Lots of blogs that say to stay clear of honed counters as there are issues with cleaning them.

You have to clean ANY counter top. Honed and leathered are two different things. How clean are you? How do you feel about smudges or fingerprints? Are you willing to seal, to maintain? Your question is too broad, and more than anything, your layout is your first concern, no matter build or remodel.

Where is the kitchen layout?

I've many clients with both leathered and honed tops, and none have "issues" .

Thank you for responding!! I dont have a great picture its called limestone, my kids call it white with a tan. I usually like light counters but think dark would be a nice contrast. Looks like I should not go with honed.

I am considering Honed Nero Mist for my new countertop and the slab I am looking at has some shiny specks? Does your nero mist countertop have specks and if so, do they show up a lot? I am worried I won't be able to tolerate the shiny specks.

I don't know if Nero Mist is the same as Jet Mist, but it may well be.

I don't see any shiny specks on my honed Jet Mist, but if they bother you now, then living with them may be worse. I'd find another slab that you really like.

Need to see the flooring choice as well. Take into consideration the patterns - a solid countertop, wood with little grain, and a plain backsplash will fall flat. Think of it as an outfit - a plain gray top, tan slacks, a white belt and brown shoes. Lacks style and interest.
