What color temperature are you going with?

edited to add: I have a similarly sized kitchen and some of the flush mount LEDs are spectacularly bright, especially if you’ve been used to the one light (and good on you for getting rid of that one- i have several of the exact fixtures on their way out).

We are planning to use Juno water down light.
Adjustable color options - 2700k-5000k.
We don’t have a lot of natural light (1970s ranch with smallish windows).

I'd say you've done a pretty good job of laying out 6" cans. You didn't say who taped up the cardboard - you or your husband - so I guess you both get the credit.
