If you're open to the possibility of changing layout, *if* that's warranted, draw out the floorplan with measurements of walls, windows, doors, appliances, etc.

I have a wide galley kitchen and I would try to get the range on the same wall as the sink and put the fridge to the left of where the range currently is. You will get much better/useable advice with a measured layout.

Lived with stove & sink on same side, and range & sink on same side.

My preferred layout: space on both sides of sink, and fridge & stove on opposite side.

the main question is: what are you looking to rework about the kitchen? you said new floor and appliances, okay, but what else are you wanting to optimize? functionality? aesthetics? flow? materials? layout? You have to answer that first, otherwise we can't help. (also, I wouldn't buy new appliances until you're sure you know the layout)
