tile over shower drain STINKS!
Anyone else have this issue? I was so thrilled to have our tile guy do a nice tile over drain and yet the shower now smells so bad! I tried the baking soda and vinegar routine and no luck. I have to imagine it’s the fact that there is such little air circulation. There is water in the pee trap and it’s not a sewage smell it’s rather a moldy, mildew smell coming from the drain.
I wonder if folks that have the linear tile over drain have the same smell issue, or if it could be something else…? The shower is used every day and yet the smell just permeates throughout the house. It’s a new shower - remodeled bathroom in 2020.

Shortly after we moved into our home, we had the same issue. A plumber recommended this product which worked after multiple applications.

Catbuilder: I don’t know what kind of drain it is, but here is a photo of that the area looked like prior - I don’t have a great picture but it’s all orange walls….so I hope waterproofing….?

Here is a better photo - the GC claims that he can’t smell anything and that there is no issue…..there definitely is a bad smell!
