too ornate . simplify the look. cabinets and hardware ought be the big players. this pendant looks like a ladies powder room selection ...not for a kitchen with strong elements like sapele wood and granite. Go bigger and just something else.

What is the overall style of your cabinets? Hard to suggest lighting without knowing more of the overall look. That said, here are my current favorite pendants. You can get a small pendant for the peninsula and a large 18" or 21" diameter one for the table. And 4 different finishes, to work with most color plans.

mcaroll just showed a perfectly fine alternative. There are many along that theme: more simple.....nicely shaped ......a feature in that it works with the cabinets . I cant even make out the pendant in the inspiration picture you showed.

Absolute no to the light you were considering. It doesn't have a place in any kitchen.

With the absolute black being used, I'd repeat the color black in your lighting fixtures. The cabinets appear fairly traditional in style so maybe something like a plain matte black metal cone shaped light rather than cylinder shaped.
