Ranges typically have a recessed space behind/beneath to provide for the cord. The location of that space varies among brands and models within a brand. The installation instructions for your selected model will have diagrams and details on where the receptable should be located to fit the design of it.

Will this be behind the range? If so, chisel out some of the plaster around the box to see what's behind it preventing it to protrude less. It could be the box is large and the back of it is against the other side of the wall. Or, it could be wired using pipe and that's the issue.

You have to look at the Dimensions and Clearances diagram for your range at the LG.com website. The diagram for the LG LSE4617ST (for example) is on page 14. In this case, the recess for the cord is 2-1/2" deep so you should have enough room for the outlet, cord, and plug. It's most important that the outlet not be too far to the left or too high on the wall.

Remember that you will need a new range cord (the range does not come with one), that the range cord type match the outlet (3 or 4 prong), and that the 240 volt circuit be of sufficient capacity (e.g., 50 amps) to support the range.
