I like the brick the color it is. Its a nice neutral color, and goes with your hard surface furniture. Replace your couch and your rug, and then take another look at the fireplace. The walls look a bit limey color, which doesnt really work well with the floors, so maybe change out the wall color too.

Thanks the wall color didn't come through well on the picture, its definitely a warm beige in person. I'm definitely giong to replace the firepalce doors and hardware.

The bricks look terrific as they are. If you want to paint something, paint the walls. I think a new set of fireplace doors or screen in Black would look nice.

Wow Kathy, I can understand why you painted yours. That brick was kind of bad, looked like someone tried to paint it up and it didn't turn out well. The full paint job on yours is much better compared to that brick.

I had almost the exact same brick/style of fireplace; painted white about two years ago and have never regretted it. Not only did it help update the fireplace, but choices around decor and colors really opened up.

Suggest saving your favourite inspiration pictures with painted fireplaces, looking at rooms that reflect your tastes, to help you decide. White is the most versatile color though.

Well thanks I think bees! Yes first I had them do the lime wash. Then the Rambio stone masonry flat paint. So much better

I would paint dated FP with white and brass with black.
