Lost in Paradise planted in 2020 showing some promise and my replacement for the poorly (dead after 1st year) performing Game Boy. A Reverse Liberty, yes please. I moved it into a better spot last year, Hopefully, that doesn't set it back.

Love Song - didn't get a great shot of it last year. Will have to remedy that this year.

I have Little Wonder..several (6?) are growing along the edge of the sidewalk for about 5 ft on the right in this pic..see one where the sidewalk has shade meets sun..

Lemon Lime

For me, this hosta was like a slug magnet! Each time I went out to look at my garden at dusk, there was at least one slug there. My plan is to remove it from the garden and put it in a pot this coming season. It is a cute hosta though. But it will NEVER get as large as peren.all's!

Little Wonder

Too crowded! I moved it to another location---and you know what?---it looked even cuter! Got me thinking. Sometimes moving hosta can make you see it differently. I always liked my Little Wonder. But when I relocated it, I said "I love that hosta! It's so cute!" (Maybe I don't need to buy more hosta. I just have to move them???)

I was going to do a post on my Lancifolia experience, but didn't. So I will do it here:

I decided I needed more room in my garden and that I only needed one Lancifolia plant. So the picture above shows the only Lancifolia I had left.

But then, one day, our homeowner's association suggested a plant giveaway. What this entailed was that on a certain weekend, homeowners were to put out on the curb any plants they did not want anymore. I, personally, decided I didn't have any I didn't want, and I wasn't going to drive around to check if there were any "free" plants.

But on one of those days of free giveaways, I decided to go for a walk. When I returned home, directly across the road from my house was a plant by the curb in a bag. It looked like a hosta! It drew me in like a magnet! It was Lancifolia. Hmmm . . . don't need any Lancifolia . . . took it anyways! (that's crazy hosta people for you!) I divided it into 3 large Lancifolia and planted it.

So what am I going to do with the Lancifolia? I divided the plants into smaller pieces late summer and am hoping that my horticultural society will have their annual plant sale in May. I need to get them out of my garden so we can finish the raised bed that didn't get completed last year. Would you have taken this plant?

Here are pictures of the divided Lancifolia. I did one area with maybe a dozen and then tucked in a couple in between other plants!

It was kind of fun though! LOL!

You had fun and hopefully your Hort Society will have their sale, if not you could bag them and put a sign free plants. We know there will be takers!

Newhostalady, your Lancifolia story is funny……even though I have a whole bunch on the north side of my house, it’s a hosta I am not wild about. When I was a kid, this hosta was everywhere, yards, alleys, next to the street……and all I remember is cats and dogs peeing on them and we kids used to pop the flower pods when they came up…..😆😂🤣😅

Only one L and, while pretty, Liberty is certainly not unique here. This is the "gateway hosta" as in the first, free hosta we all give to our friends to get them hooked.

I need pick up a Luna Moth. It just seems so tidy and well mannered.

Lime Ripple progression this season. My Liberty, 3rd or 4th season.

Liberty again, and Lemontini progression. My Little hostas (Treasure, Sunspot, etc) were less remarkable this year.

I had no idea Lemon Kiss did that cool red leaf when it first emerges. Mine has not been a great grower for me yet. I got a tiny freebie in 2020 and didn't really watch it that closely last year. It did graduate from its little pot to a community pot. Thanks for sharing the prog pics. Always love seeing your Lime Ripple and Little Sunspot seems like a perfect foil for Luna Moth (except for the size). But when you take pics like this, it won't matter.
