Lighting temp/color help

Hello! Builder is asking which color we want to have for the lighting in our house - we have can lights in most rooms. He suggested 3000.
Our walls are painted SW Alabaster and I'd prefer a more neutral color/brighter lighting. I've heard that SW Alabaster has a tendency to pull yellow under certain lighting (which I don't want), but I don't plan to change the paint.
I was thinking 4000 but am by no means an expert. Not sure if they'd try and charge more to vary the lighting based on the room (ie bathroom vs bedroom, etc), either. Any tips and suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Pics are of our kitchen (unpainted) and one of the rooms that has been painted...in case that matters.
