Yes - ask your builder. I wouldn't rely on internet advice...

This is too early to panic in the building process. Stakes are set outside the building footprint so they are not disturbed during excavation.

Your builder will explain it to you. They will think you're nuts, but they will be polite.

Lol I’ve been pretty calm this entire build, I was trying to hold off on nutty behavior until the design. But I am FREAKING out. Shouldn’t they be digging all of it!?

When you go to the site, a box of donuts may help.

A bit early in the process save the freak out for when the walls go up and all the spaces feel weird. This seems to have been satisfied and reall yyou need to trust the builder and yes you need to be involved but not to the extent you make everyone crazy.I am not sure what you mean by being calm in the entire build since the build has not begun. BTW if you are prone to over thinking IMO get a good interior designer and also an independant KD right now .

This has been a long time coming, lots of changes were made to the floor plan. So yes it’s officially started, but it’s been months of designing the specs of the house.
ID and landscaping has been hired and helped with the house plans as well.

Pefectionists need to know they have chosen the very best and that their experts will do their job: including supervising and keeping the customer informed.

This is of course not cheap, but if you are a perfectionist micromanager, (and that is not an insult, the best of the best in any field are at their work) you want the same level of performance, responsibility and communication for what is arguably the greatest investment of your life.

You certainly don't want to lose your hair or get an ulcer or have a good team member quit.

I too am in awe of the tidy site, silt fencing and other runoff mitigations that look like they were done. And if those are your footings poured - then, well done!

I received an update shortly after my concerns in this post. (I waited about 15 mins before posting here). We truly could not be happier with our builders team thus far.
