It’s a cool mirror, I like the black, just don’t love mirrors over mantles as much as I like art over mantles. Plus, you’ve already hung a round mirror in the room…is there another room it might be able to move to?

Lots of people will say that you shouldn't hang a mirror anywhere it doesn't have something worth reflecting. But your frame is so decorative and sculptural, I think it looks great there. I like the black because it complements the black of your fireplace screen. I think gold might not have enough visual weight there.

I do agree about having two round mirrors in one room. I would replace the other with a painting about the same size as the existing mirror, so it makes a statement and adds some color on that wall. You've got a pretty room, but there's a lot of neutral going on.

IMO it reflects nothing worth seeing twice and a piece of art would be a huge plus there and one mirror per room IMO

Every room needs some black -- and you've done it right here. The bit of black on the mirror echoes the black on the fireplace, and you have bits of black around the room in the candlesticks and curtain rods.

Leave it as is.

What I would do: Lose the vase-on-a-stand and bring in some color in that angled-wall /2 chair area.
