Right height for island pendants

Hi need some help with distance between counter and light....the pendants are 18"" diameter and the ceiling height is 9 feet!!!
It is 45" now but looks a little high to me! Also what distance should the two pendants be spaced apart? The island is 8 feet long.

I would have put 3 over the island, not one

We will be hanging another pendant, so there will be two!!!

I would hang the other one the same distance from the edge of the island that the current one is. Would that make sense? The height I am not sure of.

I just googled the height right here on HOUZZ and found this.........Typically pendants should be placed 28 to 34 inches above the countertop, or 72 inches above the floor.
