Heating & Air Conditioning Building a Home

ERV's when heating is provided by Hydronic Radient Heating.

Hey there, Curious how a fella would make use of a ERV when i am planning to only have Hydronic Heating. I am planning out a Shophouse, 30x60 home and 50x60 shop, regulations in my area require me to have zero air exchange between the home and shop and i live in zone 8. So i am looking at a ERV to maintain moisture levels and get some fresh air. I am a complete novice and am just trying to wrap my head around what i need and get some input from smarter people

You'll need to install ducts dedicated to your energy-recovery ventilation system. Typically, stale air is exhausted from bathrooms and laundry rooms and fresh air is introduced into bedrooms. If you're in zone 8, pay particular attention to the installation of the intake and exhaust so they don't get blocked with snow. Best practices are to install them in soffits or exterior walls.
