What do you see yourself using it for??

Some ideas and then we can work out decor items ...

    Makeup nook

    Linen/towel storage

    Coffee/drinks

    Desk with computer

So many things you can do with this.

Linens for sure, handbags, out-of-season clothes/shoes, luggage.

DH always said he was going to make a gun safe out of ours...it continues 20+years later just a few shelves that hold what was in our pockets or doesn't go anywhere else.

I like the idea of a desk with computer

How would i hide the pipe if i plan to DIY?

Great idea abt out of season clothing. Didn’t even think of that!

Can’t wait to post pics of what i end up deciding to do!!

Just ignore the pipe. Have shelves built (they can cut the shelves to go around pipe).

By the time you get items in there - baskets, folded clothes etc. you won't see it.

Thanks the shelves are already built around the pipe :)

Do you need a makeup area? This would be well suited to that although as others have suggested it could become a computer desk area, etc. Do you have enough shoe storage? If not, it would also be well suited to that. Good luck!

Some cool wall mounted products I came across

I vote for a makeup area. When reconfiguring the master closet, I had an area for just that. It's great to be able to leave items out and then close the closet door to the mess. And let me add that, the older we get, the more products we accumulate!

I respectfully disagree with the make up area in a dimly lit closet with no natural night. You could just get some matching baskets to fit and store purses and out of season items in them.

So I dont need a makeup area. We have his and hers sinks in the bathroom. I'll post a pic and plenty of light. I am very minimalist when it comes to makeup and mostly do a lot on date night. I will show a pic of a computer area I set yo so far and want to do storage in bins on top. I have no clue what's going on with the cords and figure that out!!

This is how it's coming together. Need more input/ideas for the top area. Feedback appreciated!!

Looks great! Here are a few ideas that spring to mind . . . add something pretty for the top shelf -- pottery, a vase, etc. On a practical level, a basket where you can throw tax-related receipts and statements as they come in throughout the year, or receipts for recent purchases you're not quite ready to throw out. Another basket for things that tend to get dropped here and there or misplaced -- sunglasses, extra keys, etc. Or a basket with paper, notecards, a couple of pens, stamps, . . . you get the idea. One last thought - find something small and interesting to put on the wall just above the laptop. Nice job, Polly!

Aww thanks so much einportlandor. These are great ideas for baskets up top to hide the clutter and also something cute for the wall behind the laptop like some fun art! Thank you! I've been in this house over 8 years and it's always just been a spot where clutter accumulated and now I have this beautiful space/desk to call my own!!!
